Wider Achievements
Primary 7 pupils enjoyed their transition trip to Winmarleigh with Langholm Primary 7 pupils.
They challenged themselves to try lots of activities including high ropes, the giant swing and trapeze.
They made new friendships through working together as a team and supporting each other. Well done All!
Virtual Sportshall Athletics
VIRTUAL SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS – CANONBIE PRIMARY SCHOOL | Children at Canonbie Primary School have been taking part in Virtual Sportshall Athletics. 
This is a virtual format of the sport from Scottish Athletics that due to the current pandemic replaces the normal Sportshall Athletics competition format. 
Children have been working towards completing five events with points awarded based on how far they can jump, throw and how quickly they run. Children were then awarded individual certificates that recognises their own score and achievement and gives each young person a measurable target for self-improvement. 
GIRLS FOOTBALL
FORMER PUPIL RETURNS FOR GIRLS FOOTBALL | After school football for girls in the Langholm Academy school cluster continues to go from strength to strength. 
With 39 girls now registered and training each Thursday evening, discussions have already taken place to organise friendly games for both primary and secondary teams in the new year and hopefully a trip to watch the Scotland’s women team play at Hampden Park. 
The girls were also joined at this week’s session by former Langholm Academy pupil and current Carlisle United player Gillian Telford from Newcastleton. Gillian said after the session, “It’s great to see so many girls just enjoying the game and more importantly, having fun. There is also lots of potential there and hopefully some players to look out for in the future” 
In addition, we will have news in the coming weeks about a successful funding application that will allow the girls football to remain free of charge into 2022.
