S2 BGE
In S2 pupils receive 3 periods a week of discrete Sciences - one period of Biology with Mrs Ginns, one period of Chemistry with Mr McLean and one period of Physics with Mr Drummond. In addition pupils recieve an additional Science period in which they develop skills for learning, life and work.
Biology is taught in line with the Broad General Education (BGE), as designated by Education Scotland. During S2 pupils cover a range of outcomes at a level(s) suited to their individual learning. For most learners this will consist of five topics of study, based around the themes of reproduction and cells:
- Cells
- Reproduction in Animals
- Reproduction in Plants
- Cellular Processes and Enzymes.

Homework
The majority of homework in S2 Biology will be issued on Teams and completed using Microsoft Forms. Homework will be given approximately every 4 weeks. This may include Microsoft Forms, questions given on paper, research projects and revision for assessments.
