Welcome to the Langholm Academy Technical Department Website.

Here, you will find information on the different subjects that we offer in the deparement. You will also find homework help, study materials and web links that will allow you to access a range of online tools.

Technical Education currently delivers two certificated subjects to senior phase pupils:

• Graphic Communication (National 4-Higher)
• Practical Woodworking (National 4-5)

We also deliver a Broad General Education (BGE) from S1-S3.

• S1 - one period per week with a combination of projects covering craft, design and graphics.
• S2 - one period per week with a combination of projects covering craft, design and graphics.
• S3 - at the end of S2, pupils can opt to choose Graphic Communication and/or Practical Craft Skills. They will be in their chosen subject(s) for two periods per week giving them the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of a specific element of Technical Education and preparing them for senior phase.
