Langholm Academy has a proud history, established in 1876 as an innovative school where young people can grow, develop and flourish in a supportive environment. Our school motto, Do Ut Des, means, I give that you may give, which exemplifies what we are about.
At Langholm Academy we aim to ensure every pupil receives a high quality education in a safe environment which promotes the highest possible achievement. This achievement is measured not only against success in examinations but also by how our students develop their potential. We want to work with students to help our young people develop into successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to their local and global community.

Tracking and Reporting
We have revised our tracking and reporting schedule following our recent consultation with parent's and staff. Our reporting schedule for this session can be found below. Option Choice Information
Please find below the Powerpoint from the Initial Options Evening held on 2nd December 2025 as well as the Initial Options letter sent to all S3-5 parent's in November. The initial options form can also be found below and shoudl be returned to Mrs Millar by Friday 19th December. Should any pupil require assistance to fill out the form then they should speak to a member of staff who will be able to assist.

Prelim Timetable
Please find below a copy of the Prelim Timetable for pupils for the January 2026 prelim diet. All pupils have been issued with a copy in assembly last week. If your child does not have a copy they can collect one from Mrs Millar's office. Pupils are reminded that we will follow the SQA Code of Conduct throughout the prelim diet which can be found at www.sqa.org.uk. If a pupil is absent on the day of their prelim they should expect to complete this on the first available day following their return to school.
